James Sawyer, Prism CEO, attended the North West UK Regional investment forum at the British Consulate in Boston, on Tuesday 16th March. The purpose of this seminar was to showcase the opportunities available within the region to US businesses and investors.
James delivered the final presentation of the seminar using Prism as a case study to demonstrate the skills and expertise that can be accessed by collaborating with UK companies
Other topics included:
- Overview of the region’s strengths and scientific expertise for medical devices and innovative technologies
- Update on NICE's new evaluation pathway for biomedical devices and diagnostics
- Overview of new funding sources including a new £180m Venture Capital Fund
- Support for new companies in key academic medical science centres, e.g. Manchester and Liverpool
Commenting on the meeting James explained, “This was an excellent chance to engage with new contacts in Boston. As we prepare to launch our US offices it is invaluable for us to hear about the needs of US companies and their investors so we can build relationships and identify opportunities for future collaborations.”
